When the controversy arose regarding the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, the Government of Karnataka approached the Trust to provide authentic research materials and evidence supporting the claim that Kishkindha is the true birthplace. The government also extended a formal invitation to His Holiness Sri Swamiji to bless and support its development initiatives related to this sacred site. In response, an official meeting was organized in Bengaluru by the Karnataka Government, attended by ministers from the Endowment Department, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and several senior state and district officials. During the meeting, Sri Swamiji graciously presented a comprehensive 500-page research document to the government and offered his divine blessings.
This detailed research work was the result of Sri Swamiji’s dedicated Vijaya Yatra, undertaken with the sole purpose of establishing Kishkindha as the true Janmabhoomi (birthplace) of Lord Hanuman. The research project chronicles not only scriptural and historical evidence but also details the spiritual and legal struggle against competing claims from seven other Indian states, each asserting their own sites as Hanuman Ji’s birthplace. Sri Swamiji firmly stood his ground, approached the court, and successfully obtained a stay order to prevent false claims from progressing further.
To strengthen public awareness and gather national support, Sri Swamiji launched the All-India Kishkindha Hanuman Janmabhoomi Rath Yatra, traveling across the country and presenting irrefutable evidence to devotees, scholars, and institutions. Through tireless efforts, divine guidance, and unwavering devotion, Sri Swamiji ultimately proved beyond doubt that Kishkindha is indeed the true birthplace of Lord Hanuman
The present birthplace of Shri Hanuman ji in kishkindha the “Anjanadri hills” is under the control of the Government of Karnataka.Endowments Dept , Recently, the Government of Karnataka took over the management of Anjanadri mountain, and now Anjanadri is under the control of the Government of Karnataka.
( On July 23, 2018, the then Deputy Commissioner P. Sunil Kumar submitted a report recommending that Anjanadri Hill, along with its temple, be brought under government oversight and transferred to the Muzrai (Endowment) and Revenue Departments. Shortly afterward, the temple administration officially came under the purview of the state’s Religious Endowments Department)
A beautiful ancient temple is situated on the original birthplace of Shri Hanuman on the present top of the Anjanadri mountain. 557 steps have to be climbed.
It is not possible to build any big temple on the top. ( currently the Birth place is in the control of Govt , Therefore, understanding this issue, Problem , Shri Hanumad Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust has independently came up with an idea and purchased some land under the Anjanadri mountain and planning for building a new temple for Shri Hanuman ji independently.) It is currently not feasible to construct a large temple at the actual birthplace of Lord Hanuman, as the site remains under the control of the Government. Recognizing this practical limitation and respecting the ongoing governmental responsibilities at the location, the Shri Hanumad Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust has taken an independent and respectful initiative.
The Trust has acquired land at the base of the Anjanadri mountain and is now planning to construct a grand temple dedicated to Shri Hanuman Ji at this site. This initiative has been carefully planned so as not to contradict or interfere with the Government’s authority or activities at the original site. Instead, it aims to complement the spiritual significance of the birthplace by providing devotees with a dedicated and accessible place of worship, fully managed and developed by the Trust.
When the issue of Shri Hanumad Janmabhoomi arose, the then Karnataka government sought the help of Swami Govindananda Saraswati to the government and also sought historical and mythological evidence, requested the trust and invited it for a meeting
The then Karnataka government, Endowment Minister, Ministry of Tourism invited the trust with Shri Swamiji and held a meeting with Shri Swamiji at Vikas Soudha Bangalore, Shri Swamiji presented 15 years of search documents, ancient documents, court orders, and based on this book, he presented a 500-page research book, on the basis of which the Karnataka government undertook various development activities. 15 Years of Research Book Written by Shri Govindananda Saraswati Swami,
At the time when Sri Swamiji initiated the renovation and development works at Pampakshetra – Kishkindha (Hampi), no government body — including the Endowment Department — had taken any responsibility for the restoration or development of the sacred site. Recognizing the historical, spiritual, and cultural significance of this divine land, Sri Swamiji, with the blessings of Lord Sri Pampa Virupaksha and Lord Hanuman, took it upon himself to begin the development activities independently.
This selfless initiative laid the foundation for the revival of Kishkindha as a major spiritual and pilgrimage center, long before any official involvement or support was extended by governmental departments.
The capital of historical, mythological, cultural, civilization and spiritual elegant kingdoms known for its divinity and versatility and rich heritage is an epicenter of divinity that goes by the celebrated name as “Pampa Kshetra” and was blessed by the Divine Presence of Sri Pampa Viroopaksha. This place has also been consecrated by the Saptarshis, the seven divine sages, sanctified by the epitome of the truth, Satya Harishchandra, blessed by none other than Sri Ramachandra during TretaYuga where he established this as the Kingdom of Truth and Dharma and hence lauded as the Land of Righteousness. This spiritual place also encompasses devotional peaks like Hemakoota, Anjanadri, Rushyamooka, Mathanga, Gandhamadhana, which have been the birth places for many historic spiritual stalwarts like Sri Jambavantha, Angada, Sugreeva, Hanuma, etc and was called upon by the name “Kishkinda Samrajya (Kingdom)”. This is also the righteous land where the celebrated heros Pandavas were sanctified, the celebrated land and Knowledge venerated where the learned sages of kaliyuga like Sri Vedavyasa and Sri Vidyaranya taught and elevated this as a spiritual capital and was the cultural capital of the illustrious SriKrishnaDevaraya.
Unfortunately, this place had to bear the brunt of the rules of time and kaliyuga and has lost its glory for quite sometime. Due to the divine intervention, motivation and spur to reinvigorate and bolster the 30 crore year history and pompness back to this kshetra, We have been working to bring back the spiritual greatness by constructing the spiritual and devotional empire capital. This place would augment and sustain the spiritual aspirations of this time,as has been always in the past 30 crore years of the history as PampaKshetra, a history dated back to 15 lakh years as kishkindha empire, 600 yrs ago as the cultural and educational capital of the great Vijayanagara empire and hence is being revitalized under the great guidance of Sri Sri Govindananda Saraswathi Swamiji with the divine blessings of Jagadguru and the Almighty. This effort started 5 years ago under His divine guidance to reinstate the pomp and glory of the birth place of the Future Brahma Sri Hanuma, who has been blessed as an immortal by Sri Ramachandra Murthy, who walked all the way to meet Sri Hanuma at this place, which already enhoused the greates heros of the time, Sugreeva, Vali, Angada, Jambavantha, Shabari, etc.. With the Divine inspiration, works are underway to install a 215 Mtr Hanuma Statue “Statue of Devotion“ at this very place of His birth on the celestial banks of Tungabhadra and Pampa Sarovar by Sri Hanumad Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust (Reg-135/2020)
